Brew is such a lovely coffee shop, made all the better by the wonderful people working there. Lucy, Jessie and Marco are always so friendly and welcoming, and Niall, the owner, is a genuine people person who always has time for everyone.
Most mornings, I pop in before going to collect supplies for my own shop. I always ask if they could simply make my coffee in advance and leave it standing for me. Marco asks, “Are you sure?” and I always say yes. Yet the moment he spots me coming through the door, he insists on making me a fresh one anyway! That little story says everything about the care they put into their customer service.
Great coffee, lovely people and a genuinely warm atmosphere. Skibbereen is very lucky to have Brew.

Really yummy coffee and matcha, but they serve everything in plastic cups and plastic straws in 2026?! When we were there there were 20ish people outside all enjoying their coffees in plastic, then we walked down by the river and saw a coffee cup in the river. Please think about the impact hundreds of plastic cups has on our planet and offer an alternative ❤️
Hey Annie. We are glad you enjoyed your coffee and matcha. All of our takeaway packaging is 100% certified compostable which is labelled at the bottom. The straws are also fully compostable :) I can send you photos for proof. We also provide a bin for customers. This is not our bin!
Have a nice day.
Brew Specialty Coffee House quickly became our favorite daily stop while holidaying in Skibbereen. This very busy and popular spot is run by the wonderfully friendly couple, Niall McCarthy and Aisling Hurley, whose warmth and hospitality truly set the tone.
The coffee is excellent, and the atmosphere is always buzzing with warmth, Irish craic, and genuine local charm. From the moment we walked in, we felt less like visitors and more like locals, a feeling that perfectly reflects the welcoming spirit of this lovely town. Brew is more than just great coffee...it’s an experience we looked forward to every day.
